We want to share more about Trojan and their commitment to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, so we asked them a few questions! 

Can you share with us why supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Toronto is important to Trojan and how this aligns with your corporate values? 

Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Toronto is essential to Trojan because we believe in the importance of fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all individuals. Our brand values center on respect, equality, and community engagement. We recognize that 2SLGBTQIA+ youth often face unique challenges, and we are committed to providing the necessary support to help them thrive. At Trojan, we show true allyship by being there for the community not just during Pride, but throughout the year. Our brand creative communications feature a diverse and inclusive mix of people. By aligning our efforts with the needs of these young individuals, we demonstrate our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and live authentically. 

Could you highlight any specific initiatives, programs, or contributions your organization has implemented as part of the #GrowWithPride campaign?

As part of the #GrowWithPride campaign, Trojan has implemented several key initiatives to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We have partnered with local colleges, universities, and organizations to create safe spaces where 2SLGBTQIA+ youth can access the support they need. We extend our support to the community through our partnerships with 2SLGBTQIA+ content creators and popular 2SLGBTQIA+ broadcast TV shows, reflecting our ongoing commitment to the community beyond just Pride Month. We donate over 100,000 condoms to Pride Toronto to be distributed to the community, and this year, we are taking it further by donating $10,000 to Friends of Ruby along with a donation of condoms and lubricants worth another $15,000. We have been a proud sponsor of Pride Toronto for 22 years, and our partnership will continue to live on. Through these efforts, we aim to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and foster a sense of belonging for all members of the community. 

Is there anything that you would like to share about your experience collaborating with Friends of Ruby, or something that you have learnt about the mission that has had an impact?

Collaborating with Friends of Ruby has been an incredibly rewarding experience for Trojan. We have learned about the critical role that dedicated support services play in the lives of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. Friends of Ruby’s mission to provide comprehensive care, mental health support, and housing for these young individuals has profoundly impacted our understanding of community needs. This partnership has reinforced our commitment to fostering inclusivity and has inspired us to further our efforts in supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ initiatives.
