Virgin Plus is the Red-Carpet Presenting Sponsor of the Ruby Gala. 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, who disproportionately miss out on once in a lifetime experience that many of us take for granted, will enjoy a safe, fun, and special “red-carpet” experience.   

2SLGBTQIA+ youth face disproportionately high rates of family rejection, violence, homelessness, and trauma leading to high rates of anxiety, depression, suicidality, and other mental health issues. This is one of the reasons why Friends of Ruby has created the Ruby Gala because we believe that everyone deserves a red-carpet moment when they get to feel like the most special person in the universe.

The Ruby Gala will celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ youth for who they are – in all their diversity and uniqueness – at a glamorous and free experience, designed exclusively for youth.

For an evening like no other, youth will experience a chance-of-a-lifetime event at the Ruby Gala. Youth will experience a walk down the Red Carpet as they enter the Gala where they can take a photo or selfie at the Virgin Plus Step & Repeat.   

Once inside, they can chill out in the Blue Zen Relax Zone (sponsored by Cadillac Fairview), dance to a live DJ, enjoy free food, unique Ruby mocktails*, giveaways, and live entertainment for an unforgettable evening.

As one of the one of the honoured positions as Charity of Choice for Pride Toronto 2023, Friends of Ruby has set the bold and necessary goal of raising $1 million for our Momentum for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth Mental Health campaign by December 31, 2023.
