Showing up means something different to everyone. But at its heart, it’s about showing up — loudly, clearly, and without apology — for each other.
At Friends of Ruby, we support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth navigating housing instability, mental health challenges, family rejection, and more.
This open letter is for them. A message of unwavering support — from people like you who care deeply and refuse to stay silent.
This letter is one way we’re showing up — not to speak for queer youth, but to stand beside them in a city we all deserve.
Sign your name and stand beside 2SLGBTQIA+ youth with love, care, and solidarity.
To every queer and trans youth in our city,
We see you. We care about you. And we want you to know that we will never stop fighting with you for a world where you’re celebrated, and free to be exactly who you are.
Thousands of us are signing this letter to you today.
Some of us have walked a version of your path. Some of us are still figuring it out and learning how to be better allies, caregivers, and friends.
All of us are here to say: you are not alone. You are important. You matter.
We know it’s not always easy. We know the world can be cruel. We know the systems weren’t built for you. But we also know this: you are powerful. You are blooming. You are already shaping the future, just by being you.
And, we’re beside you, always — walking this path with you.
With love,
1000+ (and counting) Friends of Ruby
